SEW motor winding voltage USA

After the introduction of the global IE3 motor type DRN, SEW noticed that customers are
quite uncertain about the applicable motor winding voltage in North America and especially in
the USA.

Contrary to many other parts of the world in this area a difference is made between the
supply voltage and the specified motor winding voltage. The needed motor winding voltage in
relation to the corresponding supply voltage is described in the NEMA®-MG1 standard Part
5.20.
